WDM Continues to Drive Growth in Optical Transport Market

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – August 29, 2006 – A newly published report by Dell’Oro Group, the trusted source for market information about the networking and telecommunications industries, reveals that worldwide sales of Optical Transport equipment reached $2.3 billion in the second quarter of 2006—the highest quarterly results since the fourth quarter of 2001—primarily on strong WDM sales.  Worldwide sales for WDM equipment grew 35 percent in the second quarter year-over-year with the majority of the growth coming from North America and the EMEA regions.
