Dell’Oro Group Forecasts the SOHO Wireless LAN Market to Double by 2011
Wireless Mesh Nodes Market to Expect Highest Growth Rate
Redwood City, Calif. – January 31, 2007 –
In a newly released report by Dell’Oro Group, the trusted source for information about
the telecommunications and networking industries, the small office, home office (SOHO)
wireless LAN market is forecasted to double its 2006 levels to $3.9 billion by 2011,
driven by increased shipments of higher-priced 802.11n products.
“With the entrance of 802.11n in the SOHO market, revenue growth will remain robust
as wireless LAN penetration into the broadband subscriber base rises to 75 percent in the
next five years,” said Elmer Choy, Analyst of Wireless LAN research at Dell'Oro Group.
“Broadband customer premise equipment (CPE) with integrated wireless LAN, will contribute
most to this penetration with almost 60 percent of the unit shipments in 2011,” added Choy.
