REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – December 11, 2015 – According to a recent report by Dell’Oro Group, the trusted source for information about the telecommunications, networks, and data center IT industries, the Layer 2&3 Ethernet Switch market sales eclipse $6.0 in 3Q15, approaching the market all-time high. Sales for Arista, Brocade, Cisco and Juniper reach an all-time high.
“3Q15 was a record quarter for many vendors as well as for the North American market. This is setting the Ethernet Switch market up for a very good 4Q15 and another record year for the market,” said Alan Weckel, Vice President at Dell’Oro Group. “Campus switching, which did have some weakness for the past two years is performing well with an upgrade cycle being driven by security and 2.5/5.0 GE. With the exception of parts of Latin America, all verticals and regions within switching are performing extremely well,” stated Weckel.
The report also indicates that North American Ethernet switch revenue exceeded $3.0 B for the first time with Arista, Cisco, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Juniper accounting for 84 percent of the revenue in that region during 3Q15.
