REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – March 3, 2015 –A recently published report by Dell’Oro Group, the trusted source for market information about the networking and telecommunications industries, revealed the Ethernet Switch market reached an all-time high in revenue and port shipments during the fourth quarter, with the both the Data Center and Campus markets growing revenue in 2014.

“Cloud customers had a big impact on the quarter, driving white box, Arista, and Cisco revenue and port shipments to a new record in the data center during 4Q14,” said Alan Weckel, Vice President of Ethernet Switch research at Dell’Oro Group.  “While the quarter saw robust 40 GE volumes, as we look towards 2015 and beyond, 25 GE and 100 GE are on the immediate horizon and will likely surpass 40 GE relatively quickly after manufacturers begin launching products later this year.  With the number of technology transition points increasing over the next several quarters, we anticipate significant changes to the market throughout 2015,” stated Weckel.

For 2014, vendor rank also changed with Huawei Technologies becoming the number three vendor behind Cisco Systems and Hewlett-Packard.  There were also significant share shifts outside of the top three, as Arista Networks, Dell, and Juniper Networks all exceeded $500 M for the year.
