REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – March 4, 2015 –According to a newly published report by Dell’Oro Group, the trusted source for market information about the networking and telecommunications industries, point-to-point microwave transmission equipment shipments grew 14 percent in 2014, resulting in 1.4 million microwave radio transceiver shipments during the year.
“Demand for microwave backhaul equipment rebounded nicely in 2014,” said Jimmy Yu, Vice President of Microwave Transmission research at Dell’Oro Group. “After a couple years of contracting microwave radio transceiver shipments, it was great to have a high double-digit percentage shipment increase. Demand in the year was especially strong for packet-only microwave systems in full outdoor configuration. A trend, we think will continue for a number of years,” Yu added.
